Wild from Proto-Indo-European welt meaning "woodlands"
Circle from Latin circulus meaning "orbit"
“Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instinct, passionate creativity and ageless knowing. Her name is Wild Woman...but she is an endangered species.” - Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women Who Run with the Wolves
The wild woman archetype has never been more alive than now. Women everywhere are waking up to their instinctive, primal life force. To support this powerful revolution and movement we (my dear friend Dana Marie Nielsen and I) started a six-month Wild Woman Circle Series for self-identified "wild women" who want to deepen their connection to their own wildness.
*Mondays once a month before the full moon (for full lunacy access)
*Location: Varies by month
*$25 per session
Using Clarissa Pinkola Estes famous "Women Who Run With the Wolves" as our bible, we will study the myths from an archetypal, depth-psychology perspective grounded in somatic exploration.
Each month the gathering will dive into a topic and integrate intellectual curiosity with body awareness practices with the themes below:
Monday, March 13 :: Wild Woman Archetype Intro (PAST)
Monday, April 10 :: Wild Woman Archetype & Bluebeard Myth (PAST)
Monday, May 8 :: Wild Woman Archetype & Skeleton Woman (PAST)
Monday, June 5 :: Wild Woman Archetype & The Doll in Her Pocket (PURCHASE TICKETS HERE)
Monday, July 10 :: Wild Woman & The Creative Life (PURCHASE TICKETS HERE)
Monday, August 7 :: Wild Woman & the Wild Man -- Men welcome to attend (PURCHASE TICKETS HERE)
All self-identified women welcome! We encourage diversity and do our best to approach the topics from an intersectional lens.
ABOUT DANA m. nielsen:
Dana, owner of Wild Woman Therapy, is an Marriage and Family Therapist intern who lives in the gray spaces that bridges metaphor with the worlds of materiality, social activism with spirituality, privilege and oppression, mind and body. In addition, she has multiple yoga teacher training certificates from Australia and San Francisco and a Reiki Master Teacher certificate. About Rebecca m. farrar:
Rebecca is a wild & wise woman (aka witch) with more than a decade of studying psychology, Jung, and evolution of consciousness. In 2013, she completed her M.A. at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program. Her thesis, titled “Stargazing: Re-enchantment Through Language,” combines philology, consciousness studies, and enchantment with the stars. As a practicing astrologer her sessions focus on "feminist" astrology that evokes the asteroid goddesses and a deeper understanding of the feminine archetypes in birth charts. When not starting at birth charts, she can be found wandering Ocean Beach, posting on Instagram, or "force" cuddling her wild cat Freyja.
