Archetypal Awakening

A series invoking underrated and potent archetypes

While the planets offer incredible astrological insight, working with asteroids and less popular planetary bodies can offer deeper astrological understanding. In the natal chart, they reveal the soul subtle, and by transit, something new comes alive that may not have been there before. By focusing on archetypes rather than signs, we discover the planetary body combinations that make us unique.

Archetypes offer gateways into cosmic, collective, and individual consciousness or complexes. They can be found everywhere in mythology, music, dreams, and our favorite--astrology. Befriending these archetypes can offer us more insight into the myriad powerful influences of our psyche/soul at any given time.

Both collectively and personally these archetypes influence us through our individual charts, but also through transits and astrological seasons. By diving into archetypes often ignored or underappreciated, we expand our own understanding of our own complexity and that around us.

About Us

Rebecca M. Farrar, M.A., aka Wild Witch of the West, is an archetypal astrologer and wild woman living in the San Francisco Bay Area (Coast Miwok territory). Her work has been featured in Elle, Reader’s Digest, Bustle, Astrology.com, and Elite Daily.  For more than a decade Rebecca has offered down-to-Earth astrology readings focused on the asteroids, dwarf planets, soul-care, feminine archetypes, depth psychology, relationships, and life purpose. In 2013, she completed her M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness and her thesis titled “Stargazing: Re-enchantment Through Language” combined linguistics, the evolution of consciousness, and the human relationship to the cosmos.  When not staring at astrology transits, she can be found getting lost on a hiking trail, curled up with a good book, or watching silly Tik Tok videos.
