Mothers, Wolves, & Women :: Cancer Full Moon

{Magical image by Cancer-Sun Regina Felice Garcia} FULL MOON 11 DEGREES CANCER Monday, January 1 6:23 p.m. PT/7:23 p.m. MT/9:23 p.m. ET *Opposite Venus *Opposite Lilith *Trine Mars and Jupiter *Trine Neptune Nothing says "Happy 2018" and Mo{o}nday quite like the possibility of navigating a full-blown emotional tidal wave with the full moon in Cancer! Cancer is concerned with domestic life and a sense of home or familiarity when in a full moon placement feelings can become amplified, as well as attachment complexes. Though I could be definitely speaking about myself here, as this moon is definitely bringing up my neediness...I would, of course, be remiss if I didn't mention this Wolf Mo

2017 Astrological Year in Review

As an astro-geek my main lens of the world orbits around archetypal cosmology, a way for me of orienting to the collective and personal experience through the planetary bodies in our solar systems. At any given moment we dance between the two being impacted by both the whole and our individual chart. When I think about 2017 astrologically what stands out to me is the eclipse, Jupiter moving into Scorpio, Uranus opposite Jupiter, and the recent Saturn into Capricorn move all stand out to me the most. Our collective journey this year has been defined to me by division in truth, shadow work, and a desire for change (thank goodness Uranus, the planet of revolution, begins moving forward again Ja

Winter Warming (Part 2) :: How to Hermit & Hygge

Every winter, while doing my best to stay warm, I suddenly become the queen of cozy, thanks to my Cancer rising and Moon-Saturn. I hold fast to my rule of working from bed two days a week--even seeing clients while under my covers, with my cat curled up near by. (It goes without saying I am writing this from my bed.) Cultivating cozy isn't a luxury to me, it is a mental health necessity to create an inner sense of warmth otherwise I quickly slip into a coldness of isolation or loneliness that comes up the most in winter, the season of Saturn (read previous post here). I identify strongly with the hermit and crone archetype as I have lived alone for more than 15 years as I prefer solitude

Winter Warming (Part 1) :: Season of Saturn & Scrooge

Winter, the time of the year when I spent a large portion of my day huddled up in front of my wall heater doing my best to stay warm. My old building doesn’t have central heat and my fake fireplace warms very slowly the few hundred feet I call home. Sitting in front of the floor heater, often I notice my knees bend towards my face as if cradling myself and resisting the internal coldness I sometimes feel setting in. I barely want to leave my apartment and when I do it is usually involves the same leggings and cozy boots. Winter can be brutal, a time when the darkness outlives the light and I find myself fighting a sense of depression, heaviness, and isolation. This is the role of winter, it

Uranus-Venus :: Awakening Eros

When Venus and Uranus come into contact, things are bound to be exciting. When the planet of connection meets the planet of individuality, non-traditionality, and consciousness it may be a reminder of the awakening process inherent in connection. As with collective personal planet transits, those with a Venus and Uranus contact in the sky, those with the combination natally are often more likely to notice it. Venus-Uranus wants fireworks, or at least that is what Uranus wants. Individuals with this combination often fall in love quickly or often and may crave non-traditional ways of relating (hello polyamory or long-distance relationships). Venus and Uranus crave excitement in connection and

Numinous Guide to Saturn in Capricorn

The Numinous did a lovely guide for Saturn's move into Capricorn...here is my piece below, read the whole thing here. “What legacy do you want to leave?” Saturn’s move into Capricorn signifies a reality check for the collective around what legacy we will leave for the next generation. And as we build towards Saturn’s meet-up with Pluto in 2020, we may be faced with the realities of what we have destroyed … mainly our planet. While Saturn does have a reputation of being a bit of a killjoy, this is more about the willingness to collapse the structures that no longer work (both the Berlin Wall’s construction and destruction occurred when Saturn was in Capricorn). Though it may involve some unco

Splitting & Spirit :: Gemini Full Moon

{image by amazing Regina Felice Garcia} FULL MOON 11 DEGREES GEMINI Sunday, December 3 7:47 a.m. PT/8:47 a.m. MT/10:47 a.m. ET * Square Neptune Gemini moon is curious about the emotions though may over-intellectualize them. While Gemini is associated with the planet Mercury, I also believe it has close ties to the asteroid Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom. The twins of Gemini represent two sides and duality, psychologically speaking it may be where we split ourselves as a defense mechanism. Be wary of black-and-white thinking or all-or-nothing thoughts as it directly points to a split in the psyche of being able to hold a cohesive wholeness within oneself. Just like the brain with two

About Me

Hi, I'm Rebecca (aka Wild Witch of the West), a San Francisco-based archetypal astrologer and writer.  For more than a decade I've been deep diving in the astrology world helping clients connect more to their life purpose and their soul. Pre-astro geek and coming out of the "broom" closet, I received my Master's degree in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness and wrote my thesis on the human connection to the stars. I offer individual and group astrology readings.

"Rebecca is amazing, hands down - you won't be disappointed in seeing her! She's warm, wise, witchy and intuitive, while also managing to be  practical and straightforward with a grounded energy that immediately puts you at ease.

I've never met anyone with such detailed knowledge of astrology, but the magic of Rebecca's readings is in combining astrological archetypal themes with a profound understanding of human nature. The themes she brought forward in my natal chart reading were spot on, and some nearly moved me to tears, long-buried hopes and dreams that I haven't dared to think about in quite some time.

I came away from our session with much more insight into myself, and some ideas that I'll be marinating on for months to come."
