Full Moon Love

The moon is magic and a reminder of our deep connection to Earth and the emotional tides inherent in our humanness. The full moon is my favorite time of the mo{o}nth (call me a lunatic). I love the madness, and wildness of it--the time of mo{o}nth when the emotional tides become more powerful than the conscious mind. When the moon is full it can take up more space in the large, dark sky to shine without the sun interfering. 

Unlike the new moon when the moon is drowned out by the sun's light, the full moon is a time when the sky's filled with the soft, white glow of the moon. While the sun rules the conscious mind, the moon is the unconscious aspect to our personality and therefore holds the most mystery and secrets.

The new moon is the beginning of a new lunar cycle for setting intentions and the full moon represents the culmination or peak. The full moon is ripe with creativity (usually ovulation occurs during this time of a woman's cycle), romance, sex magic/tantra, nurturing projects, manifesting the visions set at the new moon. Thought it is also a time to focus on the emotional realm as well as coming back to the body and self-care as a way to nourish the ripe emotions that may come up during this time. For that reason, my favorite full moon rituals include self-care and getting witchy wild.
